The following is Tuesday’s Story. A story of a little homeless dog that was rescued by a community.  Were it not for the compassion and out pour of so many loving strangers, Tuesday’s correctable injuries could have meant the difference between life and death.   Although, thanks to this generosity, Tuesday was able to receive the surgery and relief she so desperately needed, her story is not unique. She represents thousand of rescued strays that, due to lack of medical resources, are euthanized every year.

This is Tueday's Story

“Cold, hungry, and injured, a scared little 4-month-old mix puppy was found wondering around an apartment complex in San Antonio. She was small and ordinary. She was not fluffy or cuddly. She was not beautiful or purebred. In fact, she was so insignificant to those that past her that she probably went unnoticed for some time. But one person did notice. She looked into those pains filled eyes and that sweet sad face and knew she needed to get the word out to find her help. And help did come. She was picked up and placed safely into foster care on a Tuesday night.

Unfortunately, this little girls story was still far from having happy ending. After consulting with several doctors and orthopedic surgeons, it was determined that even with surgery; her severely fractured leg would have very little chance of healing properly. For a little homeless dog like her, in many cases, the fight would have ended here. But there was an alternative for this kid. By amputating her mangled leg, she had a real chance at a good life.
A real happy ending.

That night, as I took her out into my yard. She wondered over to a discarded toy that had been left there weeks before by one of my dogs. It was old, torn and dirty. Tuesday picked it up shook it playfully in her mouth, and if dogs could smile, I know she was smiling at me. She had her own toy. Probably her first. That night, as she sleeps next to that old toy that she refused to put down, along with many more I put in her kennel, I said a little prayer that we could help keep that smile on her face.”

Thanks to the generous gifts of so many caring stranger, Tuesday recieved the gift of life and now has a "forever" home with a wonderful loving family
Tuesday's story is not unique. So many more die every day due to lack of medical funds
